Prakash Bhujel, drummer of Soul Nepal Band, had faced a life-changing accident that caused severe injuries to his brain and affected multiple aspects of his health. Following the accident, he had been admitted to Dirghayu Hospital, where he received intensive medical care and was kept on a ventilator due to the seriousness of his condition.
The accident had resulted in major health complications, including loss of vision in one eye and limited vision in the other. He had also experienced difficulties with eating and required support through a feeding tube, along with challenges related to memory and recovery. These medical complications created a significant emotional and financial burden for Prakash and his family, who were already struggling to manage their livelihood.
After learning about Prakash’s condition, support was mobilized through a community fundraising campaign to assist with his medical expenses and recovery process. Along with financial assistance, efforts were also made to help meet his urgent medical requirements, including helping find a B+ blood donor during his treatment.
With the generous support received from well-wishers, funds were collected to support Prakash’s medical care. A cheque of NPR 2,33,900 from the collected funds was handed over to Prakash Bhujel’s family to support his hospital expenses and ongoing recovery needs. Additionally, a cheque of NPR 1,24,611 collected through further donations was handed over to Prakash Bhujel’s elder sister to continue supporting his medical treatment.
Following his treatment and recovery progress, Prakash Bhujel was discharged from the hospital. Although his health condition had improved, he still had a long journey ahead for complete recovery. His vision remained affected, and further specialized treatment was being explored with the hope of improving his eyesight and quality of life.
Despite the difficulties he had experienced, Prakash continued to show a positive and cheerful personality. His journey reflected resilience, hope, and the meaningful impact of community support during challenging times.
