Anuprastha Foundation pays heartfelt tribute to Late Anjali Shrestha, whose journey touched the hearts of thousands and became a powerful reminder of the strength of hope and collective compassion.
Anjali devoted her life to caring for others as a nurse. After years of serving patients with dedication, she faced her own battle with cancer. Despite undergoing five major surgeries and 26 sessions of radiotherapy, her illness persisted. As advised by her medical team, she required long-term targeted therapy with Dabrafenib and Trametinib, medicines that needed to be taken continuously for several years. The monthly cost of these life-saving medications was approximately NPR 600,000, placing an overwhelming financial burden on her and her family.
Recognizing the urgency of her situation, Anuprastha Foundation launched a fundraising campaign to support her treatment. The response from our donors, well-wishers, and supporters was extraordinary. Individuals from different walks of life came together with generosity and kindness, helping us raise funds that enabled Anjali to receive her much-needed medication.
One of the most memorable moments of this campaign was seeing Anjali receive her medicines with a heartfelt smile. For someone who had nearly lost hope, the support she received from countless compassionate people rekindled her determination to continue fighting. That smile became a symbol of resilience, humanity, and the incredible impact that collective giving can create.
Although Anjali ultimately lost her battle with cancer, her courage, dignity, and unwavering spirit continue to inspire us. Her story is not only one of loss but also one of compassion, demonstrating how communities can come together to support someone during their most difficult moments.
