Report: Deepika Shrestha, Blood Cancer Patient

Deepika Shrestha was diagnosed with blood cancer and underwent treatment for approximately four years. Following the failure of her first bone marrow transplant, her medical team recommended an urgent second bone marrow transplant.

During the course of her treatment, she experienced two episodes of loss of consciousness resembling seizure attacks. Medical evaluations, including MRI and EEG examinations, reported normal findings. However, further investigations detected a Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, a complication that posed an additional risk during her transplant treatment and required close medical attention.

The prolonged treatment, multiple hospitalizations, specialized medications, and the need for a second bone marrow transplant placed a significant financial burden on her family.

To support her treatment journey, Anuprastha Foundation conducted a social media fundraising campaign to raise public awareness about her medical condition. The campaign shared verified information about her treatment and encouraged community participation. Funds raised through the campaign were disbursed directly to Deepika Shrestha's personal bank account to assist with her medical expenses, ensuring transparency and direct beneficiary support.
